One of Nigeria’s foremost elder statesman, and former minister of mines and petroleum in the first republic, Shettima Ali Monguno, has passed on. Mr. Monguno died on Friday at his home in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital. He was 95.
A federal government delegation led by national security adviser to the President Major General Babagana Monguno, Shehu of Borno his Royal highness Alh Dr Shehu Abubakar Ibn Garbai El-Kanemi and the Borno State Governor Alhaji Kashim Shettima offered prayers for the departed elderstatesman -Dr Shettima Ali Monguno at the Shehu’s palace in Maiduguri, Borno State on Saturday….
